Sending a child to this "school" should be considered child abuse. The school provides terrible education, tolerates bullying and uses corporal punishment.
The curriculum used, "ACE (Google "School of Tomorrow")," is propaganda devoid of intelligence. The ideal student is a robot programmed with an ultra Christian fundamentalist's vision of the 50's. Chapel is a very important part of this "school's" "education." I vividly remember a special chapel with some traveling preacher that ran around the stage screaming and throwing microphone stands because he was so worked up about people using a Bible other than the King James version. I wish I was kidding. Could you ask for a more intellectual environment?
This school really believes in corporal punishment. If an offense is deemed too small to beat the child, the child is given detention. Detention means facing a wall holding a Bible for a half hour (or more). Smaller punishments include small humiliations like laying on your back with your arms and legs in the air until the supervisor tells you to stop.
To further enhance a child's learning experience the school accepts many kids who were expelled from public schools. The school seems to think that bullying and fighting are just because boys are becoming men, not because they let in a bunch of kids with behavioral problems.
Because this school cares so much about a child's safety they only have a parking lot for the kids at recess. Touch football games are very exciting with the added danger of falling and breaking a bone on the asphalt.Added June 12, 2017 by Carl Hitchens - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We have sent at least one of of our 6 kids to FBA most years since 2006. We have also used homeschool and public school options when it meets the needs of each child. FBA is a wonderful school with very loving, committed teachers. The school switched from using ACE to Abeka a year before we started in '06. All the classes are teacher taught. There are higher standards for behavior than in the public school, and there are uniforms. I'm thankful for both! There has been a strong anti-bullying policy for the past several years and it is enforced. My teenage son did misbehave at times and "earned" detention. This meant that I dropped him off at the school on a Saturday morning for him to clean, vacuum etc, with other students. I think getting up early was the worst part for him! This seemed fair and reasonable to us, an effective deterrent, and handled appropriately. My youngest daughter is now our only school age child, and she loves FBA! She's had public and home schooling but she has only thrived here. She will be entering 6th grade in a little more than a month and already has her backpack ready for her first day!

I attended FBA for all of my highschool years (2008-10) except for my senior year (2011) for which I was homeschooled. At that time the school was teaching Abeka curriculum and had video teachers. There was; however, a sufficient number of supervisors who were well qualified and available for assistance, explanation, and guidance both academically and spiritually. They definitely put an emphasis on you fulfilling your potential, but it was not a student to student comparison, it was what they saw you as being capable of accomplishing and they encouraged towards goals, especially if you lacked setting them for yourself. All of this was funneled through and displayed in their Christ-like love and dedication to the Gospel, both at school, at their homes, and at church. The consistency in their lives was especially edifying to me particularly, but I know that it was effectual in the lives of many of my classmates as well.
As far as the quality of education, in my opinion I was very well equipped scholastically. I have a well rounded understanding of classical literature (both rhetoric and comprehension of philosphy). Also, when I began at the school I was dismayed at very poor grammar scores, but with some tutoring from my one of the supervisors, I soon excelled to consistently getting high A's in everything related to grammar, not to mention superb stimulation and cultivation in the area of composition and vocabulary (specifically etymology, as well as latin and greek roots).
I could have listed similar accolades upon each of the classic courses of study represented at this school, but I chose this one in particular due to it being the most effectual change and benefit to my educational portfolio.
To sum it up, I love this school. I know first hand it is not without flaws or shortcomings, but it cannot be said that it is not without a clear and unified purpose. The men and women that influenced me in my years at FBA invested love and time in me on purpose, but not just so my life would be humanly speaking "successful" but that my life would be eternally profitable and pleasing to God, or to put in a simpler manner "to love others more than myself, to love and live like Christ."
Thank God For FAITH BAPTIST ACADEMY.

A great place for unbelievers and believers alike. They accepted me at my worst and stood by me as I am working on renewing my relationship with Jesus. They are a shining example of being like Jesus in there faith, actions, and words. This is a real place with real people all of whom love God!!!
