I am a graduate of the men's discipleship program. During the end of my stay at the discipleship house the director was terminated and replaced with one of their many associate pastors who hated me for petty reasons. After I found employment and an apartment I attended the church for 4 years and then excommunicated (I asked the Sunday school teacher for a scriptural reference during a class) and then blacklisted in the charismatic community of Spokane Washington. Because SDC's spiritual abuse of me I'm now going through psychiatric care.

In 2011 I was in their men's discipleship program and part of the program involved attending their church. Needless to say that it's one of those so called spirit filled congregations, but I put up with their abuse and if I so much as gave my opinion or asked the pastor for a scriptural reference I would be thrown out in the streets. I went through a lot of phycological abuse, told by the leadership that without their church I was going to hell, taught a lot of so called bible Doctrines that had no biblical references whatsoever, constantly criticized for my weight and crooked teeth (I was often told not to smile, but was called into the program director's office for not smiling), and don't get me started with their annual Easter drama because no matter what you do to give your best performance it's never good enough. Pastor Dave has no backbone so he leaves the preaching to his wife who is the textbook example of a a woman with a Karen mentality. The associate pastors are abusive. After I graduated and moved into an apartment I tried to find a church, but no in the charismatic community would allow me to join because I was added to the local church blacklist because I was always questioning their teachers and teachings. I eventually found a non charismatic church that allowed me to join and for over 3 years I was in a church family. I now live in Oregon I suffer from PTSD as a result of the Spokane Dream Center's abuse.

  • I absolutely loved the prayer room. It truly is amazing, you can really feel the Spirit. I can't be as loyal as I would like since they changed the times. The church, well please make your own decision. I feel sometimes when the Spirit starts to really move, the time restrictions come into play. That saddens me. The woman's prayer night is wonderful . It has truly helped me. I would suggest you bring your bible and take notes, as with any teaching I suggest you study the lessons and pray pray pray. I've been going a few months, the people are nice. Haven't really got to know the Pastors as I would like. There are quite a few there. The prayer Pastors wonderful, the resource Pastor Rosie is real nice. Come check it out for yourself.
